MACON, Ga. — Authorities in Macon are investigating the death of a 43-year-old man who was found early Thursday morning on the front porch of a home in south Macon. The tragic discovery has left neighbors shaken and family members searching for answers as officials continue examining the circumstances surrounding the case.
According to the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to a 911 call around 1 a.m. Thursday in the 100 block of Burke Street. When officers arrived at the scene, they found a man lying unresponsive on the front porch of the residence. Emergency personnel and investigators quickly secured the area as authorities began their investigation.
Officials later identified the man as Robert Glover, 43. Despite the response from emergency crews, Glover was pronounced dead at the scene. At this time, authorities have not publicly released information regarding what may have happened in the hours leading up to his death.
Lonnie Miley officially pronounced Glover deceased at the scene. Coroner Leon Jones later confirmed that Glover’s body will be transported to the GBI Crime Lab in Macon, where an autopsy is scheduled to take place on Monday.
